Why do I look at the world in a conflict perspective? Well simple because I believe that
neoliberalism and conflict perspective go together. The government favors more corporations
than people. Only those who are smart enough to collocate in a higher position have more
privileges and advantages to either buy their way out or buy their way in than those who are
beneath them. How many politicians have abused their power? How many people have been left
on the street just because the government has given access to corporations to build or destroy
everything that is in their way? All because of the desire to remain at the top and be able to
control everything. The saddest thing is that we believe that that is “okay” because that’s the
way we grew up; since we were kids we were taught to say yes to everything we were offered
and not fight for what we really wanted. We were taught to be conformist. And only those who
are strong enough to fight their way out learn to step on us and become one of them. Worst
thing, you lie to yourself saying you will never be like them and at the end; you are nothing but
a replica. I’m not saying I hate the government or the way our society is structuralized because I
believe there is good deeds society has done and that’s where the other sociological perspectives
come in handy.
